Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the EdgeLogic platform (“Platform”) operated by SpatialEdge (Pty) Ltd. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Use.

1. AI Outputs Are Advisory Only

The Platform uses artificial intelligence to assist with decision-making. All AI-generated content, including recommendations, scores, analyses, risk assessments, and policy suggestions, is advisory only.

  • AI outputs do not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, or any other form of regulated advice.
  • AI outputs should not be treated as a substitute for qualified professional guidance.
  • AI models can and do produce errors, hallucinations, and inaccurate information.

2. Human Review Required

You must apply your own professional judgement to all AI-assisted decisions. Specifically:

  • Always review AI-generated recommendations before acting on them.
  • Verify critical facts, figures, and analyses independently.
  • Consider the context, limitations, and potential biases of AI outputs.
  • Maintain appropriate human oversight for all decisions made using the Platform.

3. Prohibited High-Stakes Sole Reliance

You must not use AI output from the Platform as the sole basis for decisions that:

  • Affect the life, liberty, health, or safety of any person.
  • Involve significant financial outcomes without independent verification.
  • Relate to legal proceedings, regulatory compliance, or contractual obligations without independent legal review.
  • Involve employment decisions (hiring, termination, promotion) without human review and independent assessment.
  • Affect access to essential services (housing, healthcare, education, insurance).

In all cases where AI-assisted decisions have material consequences, qualified human decision-makers must review and take responsibility for the final outcome.

4. Prohibited Content & Conduct

You must not use the Platform to:

  • Create, store, or process content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or discriminatory.
  • Attempt to manipulate or deceive the AI into generating harmful, illegal, or misleading content.
  • Store or process data subject to specific regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS) unless you have confirmed compliance with those requirements independently.
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.

5. Fair Use & System Integrity

  • Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage caps, or access controls.
  • Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI models or algorithms.
  • Do not use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Platform without prior written consent.
  • Do not intentionally degrade the performance or availability of the Platform for other users.
  • Do not share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorised access to your account.

6. Data Responsibility

  • You are responsible for the data you input into the Platform. Do not input data you are not authorised to share.
  • Be aware that content you enter into conversations may be sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) for processing. Do not input highly sensitive personal data (e.g., national identity numbers, medical records, payment card numbers) into AI conversations.
  • Ensure you have appropriate authorisation from your organisation before inputting proprietary or confidential business information.

7. Enforcement

Violation of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning and request to cease the violating activity.
  • Temporary suspension of your account.
  • Permanent termination of your account.
  • Reporting to relevant authorities if the violation involves illegal activity.

We reserve the right to take action at our sole discretion to protect the integrity of the Platform and the safety of our users.

8. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of a violation of this AUP, please report it to privacy@edgelogic.ai.

9. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or email.
